Our Story

Mark & I left the Hospitality House after watching Beyond the Gates of Splendor.  While in the car I turned to Mark and said, "I want to do that!"  Mark looked slightly shocked.  He had been feeling that God was calling him to mission work, but was sure that after watching that particular movie there would be know way I would want to work in the mission field.  We knew we were called, but we didn't know what that meant for our lives.

Mark left the army in 2010, and the Bullock family began to try and put down roots.  God had other plans...so we stayed mobile.  After two jobs didn't work out we decided to spend time in prayer and patience.  Our pastor challenged Mark to pray for 21 days for God's will for our lives.  As a family we committed to do this.  I didn't mark dates on the calendar, but somewhere around day 7 we met Vangie from Mercy Ships.  Somewhere very close to day 21 we said, yes!

As we were walking into the Department of Public Health to get our immunizations Jacob stopped and asked, "Did God decide we should get on the Mercy Ship?"  We answered, "yes" and Jacob responded by saying, "I think God made a really good choice."  I agree completely.
